WATERLOO IS CLOSING EARLY AT 7PM THIS FRIDAY, 7/4
In celebration of our nation's birthday, Waterloo will closing early this Friday, July 4th at 7pm so that our employees can enjoy the varied festivities taking place around the city. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
PURCHASE LOS LONELY BOYS NEW ALBUM FORGIVEN AND GET A PRIORITY ENTRY WRISTBAND FOR THEIR WATERLOO IN-STORE ON 7/3
This week sees the release of Los Lonely Boy's new album Forgiven (7/1). We'll be hosting the Boy's in the store on Thursday, July 3, and we expect their performance to be a packed house. Thus, we're offering priority admission wristbands for the performance. If you buy the CD or LP this week you'll get a wristband that will guarantee you admission to the in-store. Wristband supplies are limited!

The Austin Independent Business Alliance and The American Independent Business Alliance declare June 30 - July 4 as Independents Week in celebration of the contribution of locally owned businesses. The economic impact of shopping locally owned is about 3.5 times as great as shopping in chain stores. That means when people shop at locally owned stores, more money stays in Austin. Shop locally and help keep the distinct character of Austin intact.

Sean Faires and Jonny Burke the two principals of The Dedringers have been performing and writing songs together for the past six years. This is significant because they are 22 years old. The New Braunfels natives have been building a following on the strength of their original music and blistering personal appearances. "They write their songs with lightning and rock like they want blood" says friend and advocate Ray Wylie Hubbard. The band is touring this summer with James McMurtry who is also a fan of the band. "When the Dedringers play the Hollywood bowl I hope they will let us open for them." says McMurtry.
The Dedringers new album, Sweetheart of the Neighborhood will be available on July 10th, but you can download the bulk of the tracks from the album for free here: www.mcam.com/download. In addition, if you sign up for the Dedringers e-mail list, they'll send you a coupon allowing you to purchase the CD for $7.99 at Waterloo when it comes out!

Los Lonely Boys are the three Garza brothers: Henry on guitar, Jojo on bass, and Ringo on drums. This remarkable trio of brothers has been making music together since they were small children and now has a decade of professional experience under their belts as well. Los Lonely Boys write, sing, and play music drawn from diverse sources, blending their influences into a seamless style.
Weaned on Tex-Mex, country, blues, and rock pioneers like Richie Valens, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino, and such pop music giants as The Beatles, Los Lonely Boys augment those solid basics with red-hot guitar playing, percolating rock and Latin rhythms, and dynamic interplay and luscious vocal harmonies – all three brothers also sing – to produce songs rife with engaging hooks, expressive lyrics, and melodic sumptuousness.

Check out the Summer music fest with EXIT! It's JULY 5, 2008 @ WATERLOO PARK. There will be live MUSIC, live performances, art, fashion, food/drink, and so much more in keeping with this theme of keeping Austin FUNKY! The music will include everything from Rock to Soul and everything in between. There will be 2 huge sound stages for the different performances and even a few open mic stations.
